Sega is rolling out Year Two for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, with Duel Mode, new characters, gadgets, and more arriving as the update goes live today. The dev team says the goal is to expand how you race by adding more strategy and deeper customization.

Duel Mode swaps the usual 12-player chaos for one-on-one competition—letting distance and item use change the whole flow. There’s also a Super Slot for one-slot Gadgets, boosting their effects so you can build stranger, stronger combos.

One highlight for players is the Sega Consoles Pack, which brings three vehicles inspired by classic Sega hardware. The post says these designs pull from console colours, shapes, and button layouts—and even recreates the Dreamcast’s Visual Memory Unit (VMU) using period reference data.
