Most championship rings bring the sparkle. The New York Knicks’ new ring brings the building, too. Created by Jason of Beverly Hills and unveiled on October 20, the team’s championship ring contains miniature versions of Madison Square Garden.
The design includes a turning mechanism that raises a recreation of the arena’s exterior. Open the ring body and there is a tiny lower bowl and basketball court; the underside of the removable top echoes the Garden’s ceiling. The jeweller’s official photographs show the miniature court and seating inside the ring.
The team’s announcement describes a white-gold design with just under 800 diamonds and sapphires, totalling 22 carats. Player numbers and championship references provide the personal details around the moving centrepiece.
The jeweller also offers a separate Knicks fan collection. Those commemorative products should not be confused with the players’ ring shown here, or assumed to have all of its features. Canadian pricing and availability have not been established.
Team championship ring unveiled October 20. Separate fan merchandise is offered by the jeweller; specifications differ. Canadian pricing and availability not confirmed.
