These Terms of Use apply to vancouvertelevision.ca and its website features, operated by Vancouver Television Broadcasting Corporation ("VTV", "we", "us" or "our"). By accessing or using the website, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, please stop using the website. Separate written agreements and specific contest rules apply where stated.
02Our content and services
VTV publishes news, sports, entertainment, culture, events and technology content. Features may include scores, schedules, standings, predictions, race and fight reports, film information, trailers, product comparisons, notifications and links to tickets or streaming services. Content is provided for general information and entertainment. Availability, coverage and features may change.
03Accuracy, updates and automated content
We aim to provide accurate and useful information. Some stories and updates use automated feeds or artificial intelligence assistance. Reports, statistics, scores, schedules, prices, film availability and other information may be delayed, incomplete or incorrect, and can change after publication. Dates on articles indicate their publication or update, not a promise that all information remains current. 04Sports predictions and product information
Win probabilities and predictions are estimates, not guarantees or betting advice. Technology comparisons and purchasing information are not a guarantee of suitability, price or availability. Nothing on the site replaces professional financial, legal, medical or other advice where it is needed.
05Copyright, trademarks and permitted use
VTV content, design and branding are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Some photographs, logos, film posters, trailers, statistics and other material belong to their respective rights holders. You may view the website for personal use and share links to its pages. Do not republish, commercially distribute or exploit protected material without permission, except as allowed by law, including applicable fair dealing rights. Do not remove credits or rights notices. A logo or reference to another organisation does not by itself imply sponsorship or endorsement. For reuse inquiries, use Content Licensing.
06Acceptable use
Do not use the website to send unlawful, threatening, fraudulent or infringing material, impersonate someone, submit spam, introduce malicious code, evade access restrictions or interfere with the website or other users. Automated access must respect published access restrictions and must not overload our services. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the website, address misuse or comply with law.
07Messages and submitted material
Submit only information and material you are entitled to share. A contact inquiry does not transfer ownership of your work to VTV. You authorise us to use your submission as reasonably necessary to assess and respond to it. Permission for publication or commercial reuse of submitted creative work will be addressed separately where required. A submission does not guarantee a reply, publication, employment, credentials or a business relationship. Please do not send passwords, payment details or unnecessary sensitive information through the general form.
08Contests, tickets and external services
Contests have separate eligibility, entry, deadline and prize conditions in their official rules. Ticket purchases, streaming subscriptions and other transactions completed through external links are with the relevant provider, subject to that provider’s terms and policies. We do not control their availability, pricing, refunds or services. Review their information before purchasing or subscribing. External links and embedded media do not imply endorsement of all content on the linked service.
09Privacy and notifications
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the website and its forms. Optional browser notifications can be disabled through your browser or device settings. Delivery of notifications is not guaranteed.
10Availability and limits of responsibility
The website is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we do not give warranties of uninterrupted access, error-free operation or fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, VTV is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the website. These terms do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or limit mandatory consumer rights. Use reasonable care before relying on time-sensitive information or external services.
11Changes and governing law
We may update these terms as the website changes. Material changes will be brought to users’ attention where required by law. Updated terms apply prospectively. Subject to mandatory laws and rights in your place of residence, these terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and applicable federal laws of Canada. Nothing here prevents you from using a court or complaint process available to you under mandatory law.
