Formula 1 confirms 2027 calendar with 24 Grands Prix and 10 Sprint events

Formula 1 and the FIA have confirmed the 2027 FIA Formula One World Championship calendar following approval by the World Motor Sport Council, setting 24 Grands Prix across 22 countries and 10 Sprint events. Pre-season testing is scheduled for Bahrain from 24–27 February, with the first race of the Championship also taking place in Bahrain before the calendar continues to Saudi Arabia.

From there, the schedule moves to Australia, Japan, and China, before the Miami and Canadian Grands Prix. The European phase includes Formula 1’s return to Portugal in June after Monaco, and Türkiye rejoins the calendar in October between Azerbaijan and Singapore.

The closing stretch of the 2027 season includes races in Austin, Mexico City, Sao Paulo and Las Vegas, followed by the final two rounds in Qatar and Abu Dhabi. Formula 1 said the expanded Sprint programme reflects continued success and strong demand for the format, with Sprint events increasing from six to 10 for 2027.

Formula 1 also confirmed the new Sprint venues for the first time in the 2027 calendar: Bahrain, Australia, Japan, Monaco, and Abu Dhabi. Sprint events will also return to Montreal, Silverstone, Monza, Sao Paulo and Lusail.

In comments accompanying the announcement, Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali said the calendar brings together “iconic circuits and vibrant cities” and expands Sprint racing to ten events. FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem added that the 2027 calendar reflects the sport’s global appeal and growth, combining tradition and innovation while maintaining the highest sporting standards.
