The Atlanta Dream announced on October 6, 2026 that it has reached a new multi-year agreement with State Farm Arena to serve as the team’s home for all Atlanta Dream games beginning with the 2027 WNBA season. The announcement specifies that the move places the Dream in the downtown Atlanta venue for every home game in 2027, with the team scheduled to play 25 regular-season games at State Farm Arena as part of an expanded 2027 league slate.

The WNBA’s stated 2027 structure in the Dream’s announcement calls for each team to play 50 regular-season games, with the Dream set to host all 25 of its regular-season home contests at State Farm Arena. The team said season tickets are on sale now at atlantadream.com and described the change as a response to increased ticket demand and growing interest in the fan experience across Georgia and the Southeast.

In explaining the decision, the Dream linked the move to growth under new ownership over the past five years. The organization stated it has seen more than 400% growth in season ticket members during that period and said it has expanded its reach to ticket buyers from all 50 states, while it previously built one of the WNBA’s strongest home-court environments at Gateway Center Arena.

Atlanta Dream president and COO Morgan Shaw Parker characterized the relocation as a next chapter for the franchise tied to fan energy and on-court style. She said the Dream and its supporters helped turn Gateway Center Arena into a standout WNBA environment and that State Farm Arena will allow the team to welcome thousands of additional fans while preserving the traditions and spirit the team associated with its current venue.

Andrew Saltzman, President of Business Enterprise and Chief Commercial Officer of the Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena, said the Dream’s selection of State Farm Arena reflects the team’s growth within the city. He also referenced league-wide momentum in women’s basketball and said the arena partnership provides an opportunity to elevate the visibility of the WNBA at a “world-class venue.”

The announcement also provides a performance and venue-access context for the current home setting. It stated that the Dream has sold out every game at Gateway Center Arena over the last three seasons, and that the Dream has sold out State Farm Arena eight times, including multiple games with over 17,000 fans in the building. The team said the new venue will provide significantly more seating capacity and enable a broader range of ticket options and price points, along with additional opportunities for premium experiences.

As part of maintaining the home-game feel through the transition, the Dream said it plans to intentionally design the State Farm Arena game-day experience to preserve intimacy, traditions, and fan engagement that it said have defined its home games at Gateway Center Arena. The team added that Gateway Center Arena will remain part of its history, describing the period from 2021–2026 as the setting for what it called one of the WNBA’s most passionate home-court environments.

For fans preparing for the 2027 schedule, the team said first access to 2027 season tickets is available through a Dream Elite Ticket Membership deposit. The announcement states that fans can put down a $27 deposit for a lower bowl ticket, intended to provide seats at what the team described as the best value, or they can place a $100 deposit for a Dream Elite Premium Membership intended to secure seating in one of the first three rows, with associated premium hospitality, club access, and elevated food and beverage from the best seats.

In additional background included with the announcement, the Dream identified its franchise history and venue information. The team said it was established in 2008 and described itself as the Southeast’s only WNBA franchise, and it reiterated that Dream games are telecast locally on Atlanta News First (WANF-TV). The organization also stated it has produced 13 WNBA All-Stars, earned 12 playoff bids, and made three WNBA finals appearances.

The Dream’s release also outlined information about State Farm Arena as the new home. It described the arena as home to the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks and the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream, highlighting the venue’s focus on experience, sustainability, and service, and listing features and community efforts including the Million Meal Pack. The announcement further said the arena is MARTA-adjacent and hosts approximately 175 events and close to 2 million guests annually, with recent recognition cited as Best Venue by Front Office Sports and consistent top-10 rankings for concerts and events from publications including Pollstar and Billboard.
