Formula 1 is set to race at Circuit of The Americas in Austin for the United States Grand Prix, the first stop on a triple header in the Americas, with the latest forecast pointing to a predominantly warm and dry weekend. The race is scheduled for Sunday, October 25, after two days of dry running under seasonally high temperatures at track level.

On Friday, October 23, ahead of FP1 and FP2, the forecast calls for warm and dry conditions. Daytime temperatures are expected to sit between 16°C and 29.5°C, while track temperatures are projected to peak above 55°C. Winds are forecast from the south to south-east at a moderate pace around 10 km/h, with occasional gusts up to 30 km/h. No rain is anticipated, with the stated chance of precipitation at 0%—conditions that should support consistent practice runs.

Saturday, October 24, is also expected to remain dry for FP3 and qualifying, though cloud cover is expected to build throughout the day. Temperatures are forecast from 17°C in the morning to a high of 29.5°C in the afternoon, and track temperatures are again expected to exceed 55°C. Winds average about 15 km/h, with gusts up to 35 km/h possible. The forecast maintains a 0% chance of rain, reinforcing expectations for dry conditions for the final practice session and qualifying.

Sunday, October 25, brings a more changeable outlook for race day. Formula 1’s forecast indicates favourable conditions with increasing clouds, with temperatures expected to range from 19°C to 27°C. Rain risk rises to 20% as a storm system develops across the Central U.S. Plains, and southerly winds may strengthen during the afternoon, with peak gusts forecast between 35 and 40 km/h. Track temperatures are projected to reach near 50°C, with the potential to run higher if cloud cover stays limited.

For teams and drivers, the key implication of the forecast is the likely stability of Friday and Saturday weather—helpful for setting up for practice and qualifying—followed by potential wind and rain variables on Sunday that could affect tyre behaviour and vehicle performance.

Formula 1 notes that a warm race weekend last year saw Max Verstappen win in Austin, trimming Oscar Piastri’s lead in the standings, with Lando Norris finishing second and Verstappen’s Red Bull team-mate followed by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton in the race order described by Formula 1. With the forecast again featuring hot conditions and, at minimum, a higher chance of weather variation on Sunday, the weekend’s conditions could play an important role in how each team manages set-up and strategy at the Texas venue.
