Mercedes unveil special United States Grand Prix livery for Austin
Image accompanying the official F1 announcement.Mercedes has presented a revised one-off livery for its cars ahead of this weekend’s United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of The Americas in Austin. The team announced that drivers Kimi Antonelli and George Russell will each take to the track in W17-spec machines featuring tweaks to the team’s usual look.
In its description of the updated design, Mercedes said the livery maintains the Silver Arrows’ standard silver, black and green colour scheme, while adding flashes of blue on the cars used by Antonelli and Russell at Austin. The team framed the changes as part of a broader cross-brand effort connected to Mercedes-Benz’s ‘MANUFAKTUR’ programme for car customisation.
Mercedes also said it has created matching race suits for both drivers in connection with the special livery reveal. Alongside the on-track and driver-wear changes, the team indicated that it has produced personalised AMG GT 4 Door Coupés as part of the same themed activation.
Beyond those items, Mercedes stated that additional activations are planned through the weekend, while directing fans to a gallery of the new livery on its official channels. The announcement did not provide further technical implications for the W17 beyond the visual updates for the United States Grand Prix weekend.
