Ferrari has confirmed that Alba Larsen will contest a third F1 ACADEMY season in 2027, remaining part of the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy. In the announcement, Ferrari said Larsen is the first driver to secure a seat in the all-female series for the 2027 campaign.

Ferrari tied the decision to a rule change introduced last year, which grants drivers an opportunity for a third season in F1 ACADEMY when their on-track performance indicates strong potential for continued growth. Ferrari stated that Larsen has been granted that third campaign based on her results to date in the series.

Larsen was signed by the SFDA midway through her debut F1 ACADEMY season in 2025. Ferrari said she recorded 10 top-10 finishes in the Tommy Hilfiger car during that first year.

Switching to the Ferrari-powered F1 ACADEMY car for 2026, Larsen has already made a step forward in results. Ferrari reported that she recently claimed her first podium in the series, highlighted by back-to-back P2 finishes at Zandvoort.

The team also set the context for her current form ahead of the final stretch of the 2026 season. Ferrari said Larsen, 17, is fourth in the drivers’ standings with two rounds remaining, with races still to be held in Austin and Las Vegas.

Ferrari further noted that Larsen has already achieved a milestone outside F1 ACADEMY this season, scoring her first win in British F4 earlier in 2026. The combination of that result and her improving F1 ACADEMY pace is presented by Ferrari as part of her development trajectory leading into a third year in the Ferrari programme.

Larsen welcomed the confirmation in a statement. “After two years in F1 ACADEMY, I’ve seen first-hand how much this series has grown and how important it’s become,” she said. She added that “Susie [Wolff, F1 ACADEMY Managing Director] and the team keep pushing it forward,” and credited the fanbase for the atmosphere while saying she has “grown a lot here too.”

Larsen concluded by expressing her readiness to continue with Ferrari’s driver pathway, saying she is “really proud to be part of it” and “can’t wait to be back on the grid with Scuderia Ferrari HP in 2027.”
