Red Bull confirms Isack Hadjar’s return in Azerbaijan for Baku weekend

Red Bull has confirmed that its usual 2026 line-up of Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar will be back together at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Hadjar returns to action for Red Bull Racing following successful rehabilitation from a wrist injury he suffered during training over the summer, which caused him to miss races at Zandvoort, Monza and the all-new Madring.

With Hadjar declared fit, he will slot back in alongside Verstappen from the Baku weekend. The change also reshuffles Red Bull’s wider driver set: Liam Lawson will head back to Racing Bulls after standing in for Hadjar at Red Bull, while Yuki Tsunoda returns to reserve duties.

In a Tuesday team statement, Oracle Red Bull Racing said it is “delighted to welcome Isack back this weekend.” The statement added that, after his wrist injury recovery, Isack will return to action at Baku City Circuit on Thursday.

The Azerbaijan weekend will run on an earlier schedule to avoid clashing with the country’s Remembrance Day on September 27. Free Practice takes place on Thursday, Qualifying is scheduled for Friday, and the Grand Prix is on Saturday.
