Rodin Motorsport sweeps Formula 2 Baku qualifying with Dunne Q1 win and Stenshorne Q2 pole

Rodin Motorsport began the Formula 2 weekend in Baku with a standout qualifying performance, sweeping both sessions and locking out the front row twice at the FIA Formula 2 qualifying. In Qualifying 1, Alex Dunne set the pace with a lap of 1:55.383, while team mate Martinius Stenshorne finished second just 0.033s behind for a Rodin 1-2. Noel León took third for Campos Racing ahead of Kush Maini of ART Grand Prix and Rafael Câmara of Invicta Racing.

Mari Boya and Sebastián Montoya followed in sixth and seventh for PREMA Racing, with Dino Beganovic rounding out the top eight after a late lap. TRIDENT’s Laurens van Hoepen placed ninth ahead of championship leader Nikola Tsolov, who will start the Sprint Race from reverse-grid pole on Saturday.

Qualifying 2 brought a second Rodin surge, with Stenshorne going late to post a 1:53.728 and take pole from Dunne by 0.445s. Câmara had been on provisional pole earlier in the session but was demoted to third as the qualifying order changed. Boya finished fourth, followed by Maini and León, while van Hoepen was seventh ahead of Tsolov. Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak of ART Grand Prix ended up ninth, with Montoya completing the top 10.
