Jacob Quillan said he was glad to be somewhere he was wanted after the Vancouver Canucks acquired him from the Toronto Maple Leafs, and he has points in his first two Abbotsford Canucks games.
The Story
Vancouver has acquired forward Jacob Quillan from the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the young player said he is glad to be somewhere he was wanted.
Quillan signed as an undrafted player out of Quinnipiac University. He originally chose Toronto after putting together two strong seasons with the school, before a change in the organization’s management and roster led him west.
Since joining the Abbotsford Canucks, Quillan has collected a point in each of his first two games. The start in the organization’s system followed a stretch with the Toronto Marlies, where he went scoreless in his first four games.
Quillan has also been given opportunities on special teams and has been used in different situations as he looks to establish himself. He described himself as a fast, physical, two-way player who wants to help wherever he is needed.
