Kenneth Walker makes no contact with former Seahawks after Chiefs’ 20-3 Sunday Night Football loss

Kansas City running back Kenneth Walker rushed for 36 yards on 14 carries in a 20-3 Sunday Night Football loss to his former team, the Seattle Seahawks.

The Story

Kansas City Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker drew attention after Sunday’s Sunday Night Football game against the Seattle Seahawks, his former team, by refusing to shake hands with any of his former teammates after the loss.

The Chiefs fell 20-3, with Walker mustering 36 yards on 14 carries. He entered the game with 665 rushing yards and six touchdowns, including 100-yard performances in four of his team’s first five games.

After the game, Walker was quoted saying, “S--t, we lost,” and that he was “frustrated.” He added that he “saw” his former teammates celebrating and “that’s about it.”

Walker spent the first four years of his NFL career in Seattle after being drafted in the second round in 2022. His previous seasons with the Seahawks included more than 1,000 rushing yards in both his first and last years there.

This offseason, Walker signed a three-year, $43.05 million contract with the Chiefs and has since looked to establish himself as a feature back.

Seattle replaced Walker with rookie first-round pick Jadarian Price, who is currently on injured reserve with a chest injury. The team has indicated Price’s return could allow him to form an on-field two-man workload with Zach Charbonnet.
