Seahawks fantasy contributor Scott Engel outlined Week 7 lineup recommendations based on PPR scoring and updated Seattle’s running back status before the team’s Sunday Night Football game versus Kansas City.
The Story
Fantasy leaguers heading into NFL Week 7 face additional lineup headaches from injuries and bye weeks, with the Bills, Jaguars, Commanders and Chargers off this week, according to Seahawks fantasy contributor Scott Engel.
Engel said his lineup recommendations are based on PPR scoring and list players in general order of preference at each position, with the focus on both streamers and weekly plug-in options.
For running backs, Engel recommended starting Ollie Gordon II of the Dolphins, citing Miami’s matchup with the Jets and noting Gordon rushed for touchdowns in each of the past three games while averaging 5.0 yards per carry.
Engel also advised starting Bucky Irving of the Buccaneers, pointing to reports that Baker Mayfield has a good chance to return from a thumb injury against Carolina, while adding that Irving is expected to be a strong RB2 option if Mayfield is active.
In Cleveland, Engel said Quinshon Judkins is off the injury report for Week 7 after sitting out with an ankle injury in the previous game, and he suggested Judkins as an essential part of the Browns’ offense as they face the Titans, whom he described as ranking 22nd in rushing defense.
Engel further listed Zonovan Knight of the Cardinals as a viable plug-in option, explaining that Denver ranks last in the AFC in rushing yards allowed per game and that Knight is expected to be Arizona’s main ball carrier on early downs.
On the Seahawks side, Engel reported that Zach Charbonnet was ruled out for Sunday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs and said the team is carefully monitoring him as he nears a return.
Engel added that Emanuel Wilson can be considered as a Week 7 fantasy RB streamer where additional depth is needed and that he is among the top 35 fantasy RB options for the week.
Engel’s wide receiver recommendations for Week 7 included starting Jalen Coker of the Panthers and Jordan Addison of the Vikings, as well as Carnell Tate of the Titans and Konata Mumpfield of the Rams, each based on matchups and expected roles.
For quarterbacks, Engel recommended starting Jordan Love of the Packers, noting that Detroit allows the most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks, and also recommended Aaron Rodgers of the Steelers against a New Orleans defense ranked 25th against the pass.
On tight ends, Engel suggested Tyler Higbee of the Rams, stating the Raiders rank 26th in FFPG allowed to tight ends, and also recommended Jets rookie Kenyon Sadiq for deeper Week 7 consideration, citing Miami’s position as the AFC team that allows the most FFPG to tight ends.
Engel added a note identifying his Week 7 rankings as available at RotoBaller.com and included background on his Seahawks.com fantasy writing role since 2012 and other related work.
