B.C.’s zombie-preparedness materials, which ran as a campaign in 2012 and were updated earlier this year, outline guidance such as keeping at least half a tank of gas and storing four litres of water per day per person.
The Story
The Government of British Columbia has a zombie-outbreak preparedness website and ran a zombie preparedness campaign that began and ended in 2012, with the site updated earlier this year, according to the materials discussed in the province’s guidance.
The guidance suggests planning for a “Z-mergency” by preparing an emergency kit and grab-and-go bag, including non-perishable food and tools such as a can opener.
For drinking water and sanitation, B.C. recommends four litres per day, per person.
Depending on network service, the guidance says having a phone charger is a good idea, and it recommends keeping a flashlight with extra batteries.
B.C. also advises having a first aid kit on hand, along with additional items including face masks, toiletries, contact lens replacements, important documents, a whistle, and small amounts of cash.
For practical preparedness steps, the guidance says to ensure you always have at least half a tank of gas and to have an out-of-province contact.
