Seahawks sign veteran TE Ben Sims to practice squad

Seattle added tight end Ben Sims to its practice squad on Tuesday.

The Story

The Seahawks signed tight end Ben Sims to their practice squad on Tuesday, adding a fourth-year veteran.

Sims, who went undrafted out of Baylor in 2023, initially signed with the Vikings as a free agent before being claimed by Green Bay after Minnesota waived him prior to the start of his rookie season.

Over his first two seasons, Sims appeared in 34 games and started six, recording eight catches for 63 yards and one touchdown.

In 2025, he split time between the Packers and Vikings, playing 14 games and making two starts for Minnesota. In his career, Sims has 11 catches for 93 yards and one touchdown.

The Seahawks had an open spot on the practice squad after they released tight end Josiah Deguara earlier in the day.

Sims spent training camp and the preseason this year with the Dolphins before being waived/injured prior to the start of the regular season.
