Two men charged after CBSA seizes 127 kg of cocaine from truck at Ambassador Bridge

The CBSA says two men were charged after 127 kilograms of suspected cocaine was found in a commercial truck at the Ambassador Bridge border crossing in Windsor, Ont., on Sept. 11.

The Story

Canada Border Services Agency officers say they referred a commercial truck arriving at the Ambassador Bridge from the United States for secondary examination on Sept. 11, where the suspected cocaine was discovered.

The CBSA alleges officers located 127 kilograms of cocaine in the truck’s trailer with the help of a detector dog.

Officials say officers arrested a 61-year-old and a 41-year-old, both from Mississauga, and transferred them to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

The CBSA says the Mounties charged both suspects with importation and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

The federal agency also said its southern Ontario region has seized 1.67 metric tonnes of cocaine so far this year.
