A new exhibit featuring 14-year-old Fiona Huang opened recently in Richmond’s Cultural Centre Annex and runs until Jan. 4, 2027.
The Story
An official opening was held recently for “Free in the Chaos,” a varied-media exhibition by 14-year-old emerging artist Fiona Huang in Richmond’s Cultural Centre Annex.
The Annex is located across the square from the Richmond Public Library at 7700 Minoru Gate, and the exhibition includes paintings, fabric art and other works that highlight vibrant colours, layered creations, and striking juxtapositions.
Huang’s influences include the work of American artist Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960–1988), and she takes art classes at the BC Creative Centre, where her mentors are Shawn He and Wayne Ke.
The exhibit continues in the Annex Gallery until Jan. 4, 2027, with ample nearby free parking available for visitors.
