The Story
A Metro Vancouver man who bought his winning ticket at a 7-Eleven in Surrey has won the $32-million Gold Ball Jackpot from the Sept. 19 Lotto 6/49 draw.
The winner, identified as Amritpal S., purchased the life-changing ticket at the 7-Eleven on 152 Street and 104 Avenue in Surrey. He later bought the Gold Ball Jackpot by checking the ticket using the BCLC Lotto! Mobile app.
He said he was “confused” when he saw the amount in the app and that he used other phones to double-check, adding, “I couldn’t process it!” In the account provided, his sister received the first call about the win while he was at home relaxing after going back from Surrey.
Amritpal S. completed his prize claim at BCLC’s Vancouver office on Sept. 23. He said he wants to buy a house and several cars, and that his dream car is “a Dodge Challenger,” adding, “I’m so happy! This will change my life.”
