Seahawks guard Quenton Nelson to miss vs. Cardinals after knee procedure; week to week

Seattle says guard Quenton Nelson will undergo a minor knee procedure and is week to week as he misses Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.

The Story

Seattle Seahawks guard Quenton Nelson is out for Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals after aggravating a knee problem he had been dealing with since Seattle acquired him from Indianapolis, the team said.

Head coach Mike Macdonald said Nelson will undergo a minor procedure and is considered week to week. Seattle also said he will not be placed on injured reserve, leaving open the possibility of a return later this season.

Seattle acquired Nelson at the NFL deadline, trading a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick for the six-time All-Pro.

With Nelson sidelined, Grey Zabel is set to move back to left guard, while Anthony Bradford will start at right guard.

Nelson is among several players ruled out for Sunday, including left tackle Charles Cross, defensive tackle Leonard Williams, linebacker Uchenna Nwosu and quarterback Sam Darnold.
