Seahawks’ trade-deadline needs centre on tight end, linebacker depth and running-back support

With the NFL trade deadline set for Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. PT, Seattle’s roster needs are being shaped by injuries across tight end, linebacker and running back.

The Story

The Seattle Seahawks are approaching the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. PT, and their priorities are being driven by a series of injuries at key positions.

One area of focus is tight end after second-year player Elijah Arroyo was placed on injured reserve. With Arroyo out for the season, Seattle is expected to look for additional tight end depth before the deadline.

Linebacker depth is also a concern. The Seahawks have dealt with injuries that have sidelined players including Drake Thomas, Chazz Surratt, Connor O’Toole and Tyrice Knight at various points this season.

At running back, Seattle is balancing a return from injury with the need for reliable depth. Zach Charbonnet has been injured for the first six weeks but is returning from the physically unable to perform list, with the earliest potential return described as Week 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Even with Charbonnet’s return, the team’s backfield planning is being affected by his recovery, after he tore his ACL in the playoffs against the San Francisco 49ers. Seattle has also relied on Emanuel Wilson and George Holani during the absence.

Adding to the position’s injury concerns, rookie first-round pick Jadarian Price is dealing with a chest injury and has been placed on injured reserve.
