Alexander Volkov pressed UFC CEO Dana White for a path to a title fight during Thursday’s UFC 333 pre-fight presser in Abu Dhabi.
The Story
UFC heavyweight contender Alexander Volkov asked UFC CEO Dana White what he needed to do to earn a title shot during Thursday’s UFC 333 pre-fight presser in Abu Dhabi.
Volkov, who is scheduled to fight Saturday against Rizvan Kuniev, told White, “I want to become UFC champion. What should I do to get a title shot?” White replied, “Talk to Sean [Shelby] and Mick [Maynard],” after asking for more details in the exchange.
Volkov (40-11 MMA, 14-5 UFC) has won three of his last four fights, including a decision win over Waldo Cortes-Acosta at UFC 328 in May.
UFC 333 is headlined by Alexander Volkanovski vs. Movsar Evloev and also features Petr Yan vs. Merab Dvalishvili 3 in the co-main event.
The card is set for Saturday afternoon in Abu Dhabi, with 14 fights scheduled and streaming on Paramount+.
