Seahawks host Chiefs in Sunday Night Football with Seattle listed as 2.5-point home favourite

The Kansas City Chiefs visit Lumen Field on Sunday Night Football as a 5-0 team, facing a Seattle squad seeking to recover from three narrow losses.

The Story

The undefeated Kansas City Chiefs visit Lumen Field in Seattle for a Sunday Night Football matchup against the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks, with kickoff set for 8:20 p.m. ET.

Seattle enters the game looking to rebound from its third close loss of the season after falling to Denver last week on Thursday Night Football. The Seahawks have lost all three games by three points or fewer.

Kansas City is 5-0 heading into the matchup after a 22-6 win over the Los Angeles Chargers last week. The Chiefs have also taken down consecutive AFC West rivals, beating the Raiders and the Chargers.

Seattle will be tasked with slowing Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker, who previously played for the Seahawks. Walker recorded 128 rushing yards and two touchdowns against the Chargers last week, and he leads the NFL with 133 rushing yards per game while totaling eight rushing touchdowns.

The betting line has the Seahawks listed as a 2.5-point home favourite, with the over/under set at 42.5.

SportsLine’s Larry Hartstein said the Seahawks received extra rest after a two-game skid against San Francisco and Denver, adding that expected return of Zach Charbonnet should “ease the pressure on Sam Darnold.” Hartstein also said Kansas City “has played an easy schedule.”

In the receiving game, Cooper Kupp has been the second option for Seattle with 16 receptions for 179 yards, including more than 11 yards per catch. Kupp enters after his best game of the season, hauling in five receptions for 50 yards, and he has been targeted alongside Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who has been Seattle’s top passing-game target.

The betting preview lists a moneyline-and-props slate that includes Seahawks -2.5 (-110) and Cooper Kupp over 24.5 receiving yards (-113), with SportsLine’s model simulating Kupp for 33 receiving yards.
