Vancouver Police arrested one person Saturday after witnesses reported masked men firing at an occupied vehicle near Spanish Banks.

Vancouver Police say they have arrested one person in connection with a targeted shooting in a parking lot near Spanish Banks Beach.
Police said they were alerted shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday after witnesses reported seeing two masked men shoot at an occupied, parked vehicle in a parking lot along Northwest Marine Drive, in the area of the popular beach.
A major police presence was reported later in the evening around the border of the Sunset and Fraserview neighbourhoods as investigators responded to the scene.
Police taped off an SUV with minor damage along Prince Albert Street near 49th Avenue as part of the investigation, according to the department.
In a statement issued Saturday evening, police said a suspect was located and arrested in East Vancouver in relation to the shooting.
At the time police were first called, no victims were reported, and police said the investigation is ongoing.
No additional details about what charges the arrested person may face, whether anyone was struck, or the circumstances leading to the incident were included in the available information.
