The Seahawks beat the 5-0 Chiefs 20-3 at Lumen Field on Oct. 25, 2026, limiting Kansas City to three points and 213 total yards.
The Story
The Seattle Seahawks handed the Kansas City Chiefs their first loss of the 2026 season with a 20-3 victory on Oct. 25, 2026, at Lumen Field, improving Seattle’s record to 4-3 after arriving having lost two straight.
Seattle’s defence set the tone throughout the night, including holding Kansas City to a single field goal. The Seahawks limited the Chiefs’ offence to 213 total yards, 11 first downs and a 3-for-11 conversion rate on third down, while also keeping Kenneth Walker III to 36 yards on 14 carries after he had exceeded 100 yards in four of his first five games.
The win also came with third-down success helping Seattle sustain drives. The Seahawks went 11-for-16 on third down, including a stretch of 9-for-11 in the third quarter, while moving the ball for 410 total yards and 24 first downs and punting only twice.
Seattle’s offence generated points in several ways, but the team had chances to be even more efficient in the red zone. Three trips inside the 20 produced six points, with two of those possessions resulting in short field goals and another ending with an interception in the end zone at the end of the first half.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba continued his dominant run, catching all the attention early and adding another big second-half performance. By halftime, he had 129 yards and a score on six catches, and he finished the game with 9 receptions for 150 yards, giving him his sixth 100-yard game in seven contests.
Smith-Njigba’s production included a 28-yard touchdown in the second quarter on a pass from Sam Darnold on third-and-9, with another connection moving Seattle to the 2-yard line before an interception ended that drive with points.
The team’s passing game also saw Darnold rebound from last week’s two-interception performance. On Sunday, Darnold completed 20 of 28 passes for 257 yards and a touchdown, and he also scrambled for first downs on two third-and-long situations even with an interception in the end zone at the end of the half.
Seattle’s defensive pressure featured Nick Emmanwori, who had four tackles and was credited with a pass breakup on an incomplete crossing route. The coverage and pass-rush work also helped create a turnover when Emmanwori chased Patrick Mahomes out of the pocket and hit him as he threw, resulting in an errant pass that Ty Okada intercepted.
On offence, Emanuel Wilson led Seattle’s rushing attack after Zach Charbonnet was ruled out with time needed to recover from a torn ACL suffered last January. Wilson finished with 100 yards on 24 carries and scored on a 21-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter as Seattle rushed for 153 yards on 41 carries.
