The Story

The North American box office dipped on a Halloween weekend, with the holiday drawing audiences away from theatres on Saturday, according to studio estimates released Sunday.

Ticket sales were topped by Elizabeth Holmes documentary “You Can See Everything” and the DC Studios film “Clayface,” and the pair aren’t expected to surpass $63 million for the weekend. “You Can See Everything” edged “Clayface” by $200,684, taking in an estimated $10.6 million from 2,655 locations in its third weekend, for a total of $63.9 million to date.

Laika’s animated film “Wildwood” placed third, adding 150 screens in its second weekend and expanding its U.S. and Canada footprint to 3,100 theatres. The Fathom Entertainment release “The Mosquito Bowl” — referenced by Netflix in its theatrical earnings report — made $455,000 from 349 locations, while “La Bola Negra” made $418,000 from 38 locations in its third weekend.

In the wider domestic top 10, “Wicker” finished fourth with $4.1 million, and “Street Fighter” rounded out the top five with $3.2 million. “The Only Living Pickpocket in New York” added over 1,000 locations in its second weekend and made $1.9 million, according to the weekend estimates.
