Lakers list Adou Thiero as available for NBA Cup vs. Blazers; Sandro Mamukelashvili questionable with illness

The Los Angeles Lakers’ injury report for Friday night’s Emirates NBA Cup game vs. the Portland Trail Blazers lists Adou Thiero as available and Sandro Mamukelashvili as questionable due to illness.

The Story

The Los Angeles Lakers have released their injury report for Friday night’s Emirates NBA Cup game against the Portland Trail Blazers at Crypto.com Arena.

For the first time this season, second-year wing Adou Thiero is available. He missed the first nine games of the year with a left knee injury and began ramping up this week by practicing with the organization’s G League affiliate.

On the Lakers’ report, Sandro Mamukelashvili is listed as questionable because of an illness. If he is unable to play, the Lakers say they would be shorthanded in the frontcourt.

Cameron Carr and Bronny James are listed as out on G League assignment. Both are set to play for the Coachella Valley Lakers’ season opener on Friday night in Palm Desert.

Thiero previously told Lakers Media Day, “Availability is the best ability,” adding, “So just taking care of my body because there’s no opportunity without availability.”

Thiero was drafted by the Lakers in the second round out of Arkansas last year and is coming off Summer League action. The injury report indicates he will be working his way back after missing much of the preseason and the start of the regular season.
