Ahead of a Week 8 Monday Night Football matchup between the Chicago Bears and Seattle Seahawks, five Seahawks On SI staff members offered predicted final scores.
The Story
The Seattle Seahawks are preparing for their Week 8 matchup against the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football, and five members of the Seahawks On SI staff shared their predictions for how the game could end.
Russell Baxter predicted Seattle would win 24-23. He pointed to Chicago ranking third in the league in total yards per game, first in the NFL in rushing, and added that both teams “are pretty adept at taking away the football.”
Jeremy Brener expected a defensive struggle and forecast a 17-10 Seahawks win. He cited Seattle’s defensive performance versus the Kansas City Chiefs, describing it as the first time Patrick Mahomes had been held out of the red zone in his career.
Randy Gurzi predicted Seattle would win 24-13, saying the Bears are the “best run team in the NFL” and noting the Seahawks are holding opponents to 3.5 yards per attempt.
Michael Hanich picked the Seahawks to win 30-24, focusing on a potential impact from wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and stating the Bears have “one of the worst secondaries in the league.”
Brendon Nelson forecast a 27-20 Seahawks victory, arguing the Bears are a blitz-heavy team that can be attacked on the back end and saying Seattle has been “a very good offense against the blitz over the last year and a half.”
