Mike Halford and Jason Brough say they will announce their next radio or broadcast stop later this week following a summer shake-up that saw Sportsnet 650 removed from the air.
The Story
Mike Halford and Jason Brough say they plan to make an announcement about where they will land later this week.
Their next step has been anticipated after the summer shake-up in Vancouver sports media, when Sportsnet 650 personalities—including Halford and Brough—were removed from the air after the station was taken off by Rogers Sports & Media in early July, according to reporting that neither broadcaster has publicly confirmed.
The reshuffling has left many listeners waiting to see how the Canucks broadcast team would be reorganized.
The changes have also been reflected in other regional shows. Thomas Drance has been scheduled to contribute twice a week to CHEK-TV’s “Donnie and Dhali” after previously hosting a daily radio or podcast show connected to 650, and Jeff Paterson said he has secured Jamie Dodd as his primary co-host on “Rink Wide Vancouver” for the season. In that arrangement, Dodd is replacing Irfaan Gaffar, who left Nation Network at the end of the summer.
Paterson’s announcement also indicates that additional hosts associated with Canucks coverage are continuing in the region as Nation Network’s programming lineup changes. Other broadcasters mentioned as remaining in the mix include Satiar Shah and Bik Nizzar.
Halford and Brough have not said where they are going, though multiple rumours have circulated about potential destinations. Both have indicated they will share their next move later this week.
