The Story
Coquitlam-Burke Mountain is a provincial electoral district in the Burnaby, New Westminster and Tri-Cities area of Metro Vancouver.
The seat is currently represented by NDP MLA Jodie Wickens, who first took office in 2024.
In the 2024 B.C. provincial election, Wickens won with 11,020 votes, taking 50.85 per cent of the vote.
B.C. residents then voted in the 2026 provincial election just two years after the previous election.
The 2026 provincial election was called after B.C. NDP leader David Eby called a snap election in September, with election day set for one week after the municipal elections.
Under the province’s electoral system, voters will elect 93 Members of the Legislative Assembly to serve in the 44th B.C. Parliament, with 47 seats needed for a majority.
