Here are five Richmond-area activities happening over the weekend of Oct. 10–11, 2026, alongside longer-running options.
The Story
American Crown Circus and Osorio will bring a kid-friendly show to Lansdowne Centre, with guests invited to come dressed in their K-pop style for a night of lights, music and aerial performances. The event runs ongoing until Monday, Oct. 12, and tickets are available in person or online at the Osorio Circus website, with prices listed as $10 for kids under 10 and $30 for those 11 and older including adults. Family packs and VIP seating are also available, with some price discounts on opening night; the listing also notes a code, PRESALE15, for 25% off adult tickets online, and says all sales are cash only with ATMs onsite. The show is at 5300 No. 3 Rd.
The pirate train will also be at Lansdowne Centre, with rides set to roll into Kiosk Court. The listing says the train runs from Oct. 7 to Nov. 1, Wednesday to Sunday during mall hours (closed Monday and Tuesday), and costs $5 per ride or six rides for $20. Payment is accepted on site by card or cash, and no booking is required.
Richmond Public Library’s Brighouse Branch is hosting an English conversation circle designed to be “fun and relaxed,” offering participants a safe and welcoming space to practice speaking and connect with others learning English. The program requires no registration and takes place on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at #100-7700 Minoru Gate.
On Sunday, Oct. 11, the library will also offer “Chess for Fun,” welcoming both beginners and more experienced players. The listing says participants can bring their own board, pieces or clock, though plenty will be available, and spectators are welcome; the event is presented in partnership with the Richmond Chess Club. It runs from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the Richmond Public Library, Brighouse Branch, #100-7700 Minoru Gate.
An exhibition at the Richmond Cultural Centre’s Annex Gallery, called Free in the Chaos, brings together paintings and mixed-media works by 14-year-old Richmond artist Fiona Huang. The listing describes the pieces as drawing inspiration from graffiti, street art and popular culture, reimagining familiar comic, cartoon and game characters alongside invented monsters, and says the show runs ongoing until Monday, Jan. 4, 2027. Hours are listed as Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Annex Gallery, Richmond Cultural Centre Annex, 7660 Minoru Gate.
