Seahawks release CB Trevon Diggs ahead of Week 7 vs. Chiefs, add Irvin Charles to active roster

The Seattle Seahawks released cornerback Trevon Diggs from the active roster ahead of their Week 7 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Story

The Seattle Seahawks have moved Trevon Diggs off the 53-man active roster ahead of Week 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs, with the team also making a corresponding roster change by signing Irvin Charles to the active roster.

Diggs had signed with Seattle’s active roster on Oct. 10 after appearing in his first game with the Seahawks in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers. He went on to play in Seattle’s Week 5 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers and Week 6 game against the Denver Broncos.

Through those appearances, Diggs saw 21 combined snaps on defense. In Week 6 against the Broncos, he played six snaps, including four on defense, allowing a catch on his only target.

Seattle’s move also comes as the Seahawks shift their in-season cornerback options, with Diggs remaining tied to the organization’s depth plans as a vested veteran.

The Seahawks and Chiefs are set to kick off on Sunday at 5:20 p.m. PT inside Lumen Field, with the game airing on NBC and streaming on Peacock.
