A weekend of exhibitions, markets, festivals and workshops runs from Friday, Oct. 2 to Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026 in Vancouver, Surrey and North Vancouver.

The Story

A packed lineup of events is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 2, through Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026 across Vancouver, Surrey and North Vancouver, including gallery offerings, markets, family programming and cultural festivals.

On Friday, Oct. 2, the Vancouver Art Gallery celebrates its 95 years with “First Free Friday Afternoon at Bill Reid Gallery.” Other Friday listings include “Black Spaces Summit & Symposium,” “Epidermis Circus (Surrey) ON UNCEDED TERRITORY,” and “An Evening with Carole David and Daphne Marlatt.” For film fans, the weekend also includes the “Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF)” in the Metro Vancouver listings.

Saturday, Oct. 3 features “First Saturday Open Studios” and “Advance Voting – City of Vancouver,” as well as Science World’s “Girls and STEAM Summit” and “Girls and STEAM Industry Showcase.” In Surrey, the schedule lists “BC Culture Days Events” and “All Hallows Eve Craft Market,” and the region-wide weekend calendar highlights the “White Rock & South Surrey Culture Crawl” in Surrey.

Sunday, Oct. 4 includes additional exhibitions and community events such as “Harvest Days at VanDusen Botanical Garden,” “Pay What You Can Day at MONOVA (North Vancouver),” and “XO Fibre Festival (North Vancouver).” The weekend listings also include “Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF)” and “Blue Violin (North Vancouver).”
