Metro Vancouver has multiple events scheduled from August 28 to 30, including Stanley Park mini golf, Car Free Days, and the SFU Summer Festival.

A full slate of events is planned across Metro Vancouver for the weekend of August 28 to 30, spanning family attractions, food and cultural festivals, and free community activities.
H.R. MacMillan Space Centre is offering an Augmented Reality Solar System Tour through the season weekends, included with general admission at the museum in Stanley Park. The experience is for visitors aged 5 and up, with an AR headset guide and no screens required.
Also in Stanley Park, a new temporary Stanley Park Mini Golf Experience is open with 18 holes at 690 Pipeline Road. Operating hours run Sunday to Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Thursday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Two Car Free Days are listed for late August, with Port Coquitlam hosting on August 29 and Burnaby hosting on August 30. Each Car Free Day is described as a community festival with live music, vendors, food, and other interactive activities.
Food festival plans include the Kimchi Food Festival at Coquitlam Town Centre Park on August 28 to 29, described as Western Canada’s largest Korean food and cultural festival with food and hands-on making classes. In Surrey, a separate KPOP & Food Festival is listed for August 29 at Surrey Civic Plaza.
For evenings and nightlife, Public Disco is bringing a free all-ages All Vinyl Block Party on August 29 at šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtlʼe7énḵ Square / Vancouver Art Gallery North Plaza. The event includes vinyl DJs curated by Dairy Free, pop-up bars, a record sale, a vintage market by Granville Flea, a food truck, and kids’ activities.
On August 29 at 8888 University Drive in Burnaby, the SFU Summer Festival is scheduled as a one-day anime convention styled to resemble a Japanese “matsuri,” with festival games and booths featuring local artists and vendors.
At the same time period on August 29, ANYMA is listed for Ambleside Park as part of Soulrise Music Festival, with ARGY, Kevin de Vries, KOROLOVA, Son of Son, Daijo, and @anyma headlining.
Brewery and the Beast is scheduled for August 30 at Concord Pacific Place, described as a curated experience featuring food and beverages along with the chance to interact with chefs and restaurateurs, plus live music and local charity support.
For ongoing weekend options, Dive-In Movie Nights + Sips ‘n Dips are listed for select Thursdays from July 9 to September 10, while Vancouver Maritime Experience sessions run Thursdays and Sundays, and Surf & Turf Sunday at The Blarney Stone runs every Sunday from April 19 to November 29.
