Teck Resources says its third-quarter profit attributable to shareholders rose to $1.59 billion, helped by higher copper and zinc prices.
The Story
Teck Resources Ltd. reported that its third-quarter profit increased compared with the same quarter last year, citing higher copper and zinc prices.
The Vancouver-based miner said profit attributable to shareholders totalled $1.59 billion, or $3.24 per diluted share, up from $281 million, or 57 cents per diluted share, in the third quarter of 2025. On an adjusted basis, Teck reported earnings of $1.88 per diluted share, up from an adjusted profit of 76 cents per diluted share a year earlier.
Teck’s revenue for the quarter was $4.52 billion, up from $3.39 billion in the third quarter of 2025.
The company also said that on the weekend, about 1,200 workers represented by the United Steelworkers began a strike at Teck’s Highland Valley Copper mine. Teck said operations were continuing at a reduced capacity, and the impact on production would depend on the duration of the job action.
