Witches Harvest will take place in Vancouver on Oct. 24 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Oct. 25 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Croatian Cultural Centre.
The Story
A witch-themed fall market called Witches Harvest is scheduled for Oct. 24 and 25 at the Croatian Cultural Centre in Vancouver.
Organizers say the event is a “witch-run, spooky season event” that “casts the net to all comers, but especially the curious and the magical,” with artisans and makers from across B.C. gathering around Samhain. The market will feature seasonal handcrafted treasures, occult-inspired trinkets and reading material, alongside other goods described as part of the spooky season.
Witches Harvest is presented by Nightshade Market and Ravens Veil, a magic shop on Commercial Drive. The brains behind Ravens Veil, Kara Gilbertson and Michéal Reilly, are collaborating with Amanda Jane Obscurité and Luna Cuorvidae under the Nightshade Market banner, which hosts three gatherings each year: Witches Hedge, Witches Harvest and Witches Hearth.
Organizers invite attendees to come in costume or “fancy witchy attire,” and they say there will be prizes. They also say proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to charity.
The event will run Oct. 24 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Oct. 25 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Croatian Cultural Centre, 3250 Commercial Dr. Tickets cost $6.66.
