Vancouver Police are investigating a death at CRAB Park early Wednesday morning that has been confirmed as the city’s sixth homicide of 2026.

Vancouver Police Department homicide investigators are investigating a death at CRAB Park in the early hours of Wednesday morning and have confirmed it as the city’s sixth homicide of the year.
Police say they were called to the park at 101 E. Waterfront Road shortly before 7 a.m. after receiving reports of a man in medical distress. First responders attempted life-saving measures, but the man died at the scene.
As of Wednesday, police have not confirmed the victim’s identity and say there are currently no suspects.
Investigators are now seeking witnesses who may have been in or around CRAB Park between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday. Anyone with relevant information is being asked to contact the VPD Homicide Unit at 604-717-2500.
The investigation is unfolding in a period when Vancouver is continuing to track its homicide count for the year, and investigators are relying on community information to identify potential witnesses from the overnight window near the waterfront park.
