Bears vs. Seahawks first TD scorer picks feature Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Rome Odunze

The Chicago Bears visit the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field on Monday Night Football for an 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff in Week 8.

The Story

The Chicago Bears are set to face the Seattle Seahawks to close out NFL Week 8 on Monday Night Football, with kickoff scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET at Lumen Field.

Seattle is listed as a 3-point home favourite for the matchup.

For first-touchdown scorer prop betting, the picks highlighted were Jaxon Smith-Njigba for Seattle at +600 and Rome Odunze for Chicago at +250.

For the Seahawks, the selection of Smith-Njigba is tied to his production this season, including 867 receiving yards and eight touchdown catches, along with the expectation that he is the central receiving option as the offence looks to generate plays deep on Chicago’s defence.

The betting notes also point to tight end AJ Barner as a red-zone threat and say running back Zach Charbonnet is expected to be back for Seattle, while noting that Chicago allows fewer than 88 rushing yards per game.

For Chicago, Odunze is described as a downfield shot in part because Seattle’s run defence allows fewer than 90 rushing yards per game, even if the Bears are expected to continue to use the run.

The betting preview says Odunze has yet to find the end zone this season but was credited with six touchdowns last season, and it cites his recent workload of 69 yards on four catches last week while averaging 15.9 yards per reception.

The same notes add that Odunze is second on the team with 381 receiving yards, behind Luther Burden III, who has 491 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and that the Seahawks’ pass defence allows fewer than 145 passing yards per game.
