Lapu Lapu Day SUV attack suspect Kai Ji Adam Lo pleads not guilty to all 42 charges

Kai Ji Adam Lo has pleaded not guilty to 42 charges, including 11 counts of second-degree murder and 31 counts of attempted murder.

The Story

The BC Prosecution Service says Kai Ji Adam Lo pleaded not guilty to all 42 charges he faces during a court appearance on Monday.

Lo entered the pleas to 11 counts of second-degree murder and 31 counts of attempted murder.

The prosecution says his trial is set to begin next April, nearly two years after the vehicle ramming attack at Vancouver’s Lapu Lapu Day Festival on April 26, 2025.

Eleven people were killed in the attack in East Vancouver, and dozens more were injured.

The BC Prosecution Service says Lo’s case was moved to B.C. Supreme Court earlier this year after a lower court judge ruled he was fit to stand trial.
