Seahawks–Chiefs Week 7: Three staff members predict scorelines for Sunday Night Football at Lumen Field

Three Seattle Seahawks On SI staff members have offered predicted final scores for the Chiefs’ Week 7 visit to Lumen Field.

The Story

The Kansas City Chiefs visit the Seattle Seahawks for Sunday Night Football in Week 7, with kickoff scheduled for Sunday at 5:20 p.m. PT inside Lumen Field.

As part of the lead-in to the matchup, three staff members published their predicted outcomes and reasoning for the Seahawks’ home game.

Russell Baxter predicted the Seahawks would win 24-20, describing the contest as potentially decisive even if it is early and noting Seattle has already fallen behind the unbeaten 49ers by three games after losing to them at home in Week 5. Baxter said the Seahawks will need to limit both Kenneth Walker III and Patrick Mahomes and suggested Sam Darnold will end a four-game interception streak while Seattle’s defence limits the league’s rushing leader to fewer than 100 yards for just the second time in six games.

Jeremy Brener predicted Seattle would win 24-21, saying the game feels different despite the Seahawks dropping their last two games, which he said Seattle has not done since the 2024 season. Brener said the Chiefs present a unique challenge but that Seattle’s front should be able to keep Walker at bay, and he pointed to the Chiefs being without their top pass-catchers as a factor that could benefit the Seahawks. He also said Seattle’s defence leads the league in yards allowed per game and described the matchup as likely to be defensive, with the home crowd referenced as an advantage.

Randy Gurzi predicted the Chiefs would win 31-23, writing that while Kansas City is known for its offence led by Mahomes and Walker, it is also dangerous defensively. Gurzi said that could be difficult for a struggling Seahawks offence unless Seattle figures things out quickly.

Fans can watch the game on NBC or stream it on Peacock.
