Air Canada to add a $30 non-refundable phone booking fee starting Oct. 15

Air Canada says a $30 non-refundable booking fee (plus applicable taxes) will apply to phone reservations through its Contact Centre starting Oct. 15, 2026.

The Story

Air Canada says it is introducing a new $30 non-refundable booking fee for reservations made by phone through the airline’s Contact Centre, effective October 15, 2026.

The fee applies per person booked through the Contact Centre when a new reservation is made with an Air Canada agent. Air Canada says that for a family of four, the extra cost would be $120 plus applicable taxes, based on booking four people.

Air Canada says the booking fee also continues to apply to Aeroplan flight reward bookings made through its Contact Centre.

The airline says the fee can be avoided by booking through its website or app.

Air Canada also says customers who require specialized care and support, including those with accessibility needs, are exempt from the booking fee. It added that there will be no change to the support available, and that no booking fee will apply if a trip is affected by a delay, cancellation or other travel disruption.
