More Rewards breach: Save-On-Foods says names, addresses accessed after Oct. 13 server incident

More Rewards says unauthorized activity on a Save-On-Foods server on Oct. 13, 2026 was quickly contained, with certain personal information accessed.

The Story

More Rewards customers who shop with Save-On-Foods are being advised to watch for suspicious messages after the Pattison Food Group, which owns the retailer, detected unauthorized activity on one of its servers.

According to information posted on the More Rewards website, the incident was found on October 13, 2026. The company said it took immediate action that day to shut down the server and launch an investigation with a third-party cybersecurity expert.

More Rewards said the incident was quickly contained and that it notified the appropriate authorities and privacy regulators.

The company says that, based on the information available, no personal information such as credit card data, transaction history, and passwords were accessed.

However, it says information including names, addresses, dates of birth, email addresses, and phone numbers were accessed, and it did not specify how many customers were affected.

More Rewards also noted that it will “never contact you for sensitive information.” Customers are advised to be cautious of unusual or unexpected emails, text messages, or phone calls, particularly those that request personal or financial information, ask for payment, create a sense of urgency or pressure, or direct recipients to select an unexpected link or open or download an attachment.

The website says if something does not look or feel right, people should not respond, open links or attachments, or provide personal information, and should instead verify the request using contact information they already know is legitimate rather than contact information contained in the message.
