Off the Rush will begin airing Monday, Sept. 28 on Pulse 107.7 FM, delivering weekday sports talk from 10 p.m. to midnight.
The Story
Vancouver sports fans will get a new late-night radio option when Off the Rush launches on Pulse 107.7 FM on Monday, Sept. 28.
The two-hour show will air Monday through Friday from 10 p.m. to midnight, replacing a gap created when Rogers closed Sportsnet 650 in July and ended its daily local sports programming.
Off the Rush will be hosted by Tanbir Rana, with Brian Rai as co-host and Karan Dhindsa, who goes by KD, as producer. The program is being positioned as a regular place for sports conversation late in the day, with the hosts aiming to build discussions around what listeners across the Lower Mainland are following.
While the Vancouver Canucks are expected to feature prominently, the hosts say coverage will extend beyond hockey to include leagues and teams people follow elsewhere, including the NHL, NFL, NBA, MLB and soccer.
The show’s concept is built around a willingness to challenge standard sports-radio takes. In its announcement, the team said it wants “real conversations, real debates and real opinions,” adding that it will not avoid topics just because they might draw disagreement.
Off the Rush also plans to bring guests into the studio, with the team expecting to speak with people connected to sports and recognizable personalities from Vancouver and beyond. The show has not yet named its first guests.
In addition, the hosts say they want to apply a stronger Vancouver and Lower Mainland perspective to broader national sports stories. That includes giving local fans room to challenge the conversation even when discussions move across different sports and leagues.
Listeners will be able to tune in on the radio or through pulsefm.ca, with the show set to premiere Sept. 28 and continue airing weekdays in the 10 p.m. to midnight slot.
