The Vancouver Whitecaps say they will open the upper bowl of BC Place for their Nov. 1 home match against the Seattle Sounders.
The Story
The Vancouver Whitecaps will open the upper bowl of BC Place for their final home regular-season match of the year on Nov. 1, when they host the Seattle Sounders.
The team said it will be the second time this season it has opened the upper bowl. The last time the upper bowl was opened was Aug. 1, when the Whitecaps played their first game back at BC Place after the World Cup against Los Angeles FC. That match drew 40,086 people.
Vancouver has not yet sold out the lower bowl for the Nov. 1 game, and only a limited number of tickets remain available. The Whitecaps have opened sections 437 to 445 on the southeast side of BC Place and said additional sections could be opened if tickets sell out.
The Whitecaps’ second-largest crowd this season was a lower-bowl sellout of 27,589 in April.
Vancouver is currently first in the Western Conference, three points ahead of St. Louis City SC and FC Dallas, with one fewer game played than both teams.
