Surrey police say two people were seriously hurt and one was airlifted after a multi-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck, bus and other vehicles on Highway 99 on Friday.
The Story
Police in British Columbia say 13 people were sent to hospital after a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 99 on Friday involving a semi-truck and trailer, a bus and several other vehicles.
Surrey Police Service initially reported no serious injuries, but said late Friday night that two among the injured were seriously hurt, with one person airlifted to a hospital. The force added that the other 11 people were hospitalized in stable condition.
Police say the investigation into the cause is in its early stages, and investigators believe the semi-truck and trailer crossed into incoming traffic.
BC Emergency Health Services says several ambulances, paramedics and an air ambulance responded to the crash, which shut down traffic on Highway 99 for several hours.
