Seahawks release cornerback Trevon Diggs to clear roster spot for Anthony Bradford’s return vs Chiefs

Seattle released cornerback Trevon Diggs to create space on the 53-man roster for offensive lineman Anthony Bradford to come off injured reserve ahead of a Sunday night game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Story

Seattle released cornerback Trevon Diggs in a roster move that the team made to create room on its active roster for offensive lineman Anthony Bradford to return from injured reserve for the Seahawks’ Sunday night matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The reason for the release was reported by 933 KJR’s Gregg Bell, who wrote on Oct. 23, 2026 that Seattle “released CB Trevon Diggs to clear space on the 53-man active roster for G Anthony Bradford to come off injured reserve and play vs Chiefs Sunday night.” Bell added that the Seahawks “likely” would try to re-sign Diggs to the practice squad, where he began the season, though the move does not guarantee a reunion.

Diggs joined Seattle in August after time with the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers, but his opportunities have been limited. The team’s first regular-season use of Diggs came against the Los Angeles Chargers, when he played nine defensive snaps before being promoted to the 53-man roster ahead of the San Francisco 49ers game earlier in the season.

Bradford, who Seattle is bringing back from injured reserve, has been sidelined with knee and hip injuries and has missed the team’s last five games. Since being drafted in 2023, Bradford has started 39 of 43 regular-season appearances.

Diggs, a former Dallas second-round pick, has faced challenges in returning to the form that made him one of the NFL’s standout cornerbacks earlier in his career. In 2021, he recorded 11 interceptions to lead the league and earned first-team All-Pro honours, and he made the Pro Bowl in 2022, before injuries disrupted his career.

According to the supplied account, Diggs suffered a torn ACL in 2023 and later experienced additional setbacks. The Cowboys released him late in the 2025 season, after which he joined Green Bay before landing in Seattle, where he has seen limited defensive action.

With his release, Diggs remains free to explore other opportunities, while the supplied reporting indicates the Seahawks could retain him as depth if they are able to reach another practice-squad agreement.
