The Story
The Portland Trail Blazers kept their early-season road surge going with a 132-119 win over the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday.
The victory moved Portland to 6-1 overall and extended its away record to 5-0, the second-longest season-opening road winning streak in franchise history since 1990-91, when the team won its first eight games on the road.
Portland’s offence was led by Damian Lillard, who matched his season high with 25 points, while Donovan Clingan added 24 points and 11 rebounds and Deni Avdija finished with 21 points and 12 assists.
The Blazers took control in the second quarter, scoring 43 points, and then held off a push by Phoenix after halftime despite the Suns closing the gap.
Portland scored 132 points while shooting better than 50% from the field, helping secure the win as it continued to post road results through its first five away games.
