After knocking off the Chiefs 20-3 and acquiring Quenton Nelson from the Colts, the Seahawks host the Bears on Monday Night Football.
The Story
The Seahawks followed up a 20-3 win over the previously unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs by completing a trade that brought All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson to Seattle from the Indianapolis Colts.
The deal sends a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-rounder to the Colts.
Seattle’s next game is Monday Night Football against the Chicago Bears, with the Seahawks travelling to Santa Clara in Week 12 to play the San Francisco 49ers.
The mailbag also addressed how Nelson fits into the team’s offensive line plans. Nelson has been a left guard throughout his career, and the Seahawks’ first-round pick in 2025, Grey Zabel, is described as having earned his role at left guard as a rookie.
In discussions about Seattle’s receiving situation, the mailbag highlighted Jaxon Smith-Njigba’s production. Smith-Njigba led the NFL in receiving yards last season and won AP Offensive Player of the Year honours.
Through seven games this season, Smith-Njigba has 816 receiving yards, which is 216 more than Dallas’ CeeDee Lamb, the No. 2 player on that list.
Smith-Njigba’s current total places him ahead of the Jets’ Garrett Wilson, who has 444 yards and is listed as No. 19 on that receiving-yards comparison.
