CBS Sports previewed UFC 333 on Oct. 24 and outlined best-bet picks for several main-card bouts, including a Yan decision lean and an Alexander Volkanovski moneyline pick.
The Story
CBS Sports framed UFC 333 as a highly competitive card, highlighting two championship fights on the slate: bantamweight champion Petr Yan against former champion Merab Dvalishvili, and featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski against undefeated Movsar Evloev.
In its best-bets segment, CBS Sports said Alexander Volkanovski is a moneyline pick at -110 against Evloev, while also describing a matchup it expects to stay on the scorecards for much of the night.
For the bantamweight trilogy, CBS Sports listed Petr Yan via decision at +130 as its more compelling option, explaining that the odds were too long for an over wager on a bout it described as headed for the judges.
The preview also included other main-card picks constrained to the publisher’s -250-or-better rule, including Aaron Pico against Losene Keita, with Pico selected on the moneyline at -148; Alexander Volkov versus Rizvan Kuniev, with Volkov picked at -122; and Lone’er Kavanagh versus Ramazan Temirov, with Temirov chosen at -112.
CBS Sports tied its Volkov selection to what it described as Kuniev needing to navigate Volkov’s jab to get into range, while it described Temirov as likely to rely on overhand-right-heavy boxing and noted recent win momentum for both Temirov and Kavanagh.
