Trail Blazers stay unbeaten on the road with 132-119 win in Phoenix

The Portland Trail Blazers improved to 5-0 on the road with a 132-119 win over the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night.

The Story

The Portland Trail Blazers remained unbeaten on the road this season, defeating the Phoenix Suns 132-119 on Wednesday night in Phoenix.

Portland took control early in the second quarter, outscoring Phoenix by 43 points in the period. The surge began with an eight-point run that included back-to-back three-pointers from Vit Krejci and Donovan Clingan, and the Trail Blazers entered halftime leading 72-59 after Damian Lillard hit a turnaround jumper just before the break.

In the fourth quarter, Lillard connected with Clingan on an alley-oop as Portland extended its advantage to 122-107 with about three minutes remaining.

Lillard led Portland with 25 points. Clingan finished with 24 points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots.

Krejci left the game early with what was described as a fracture in his leg, adding a third rotation player to the team’s injury list.

The Trail Blazers, now 6-1 overall, wrap up their road swing with a game against the LA Lakers on Friday.
