Doncic made eight 3-pointers and scored at least 37 points in his fourth straight game, raising his early lead in the NBA scoring race. He reached 40 points in the win for the 20th time in his 98 regular-season games with the Lakers, including scoring that mark in the first three quarters against Toronto.

The Lakers built a wide lead, going up 102-76 with 90 seconds left in the third quarter. Toronto later cut the deficit to single digits, but Doncic and Reaves led a quick 9-1 rally to restore control.

Toronto’s reserves scored 11 points in 40 seconds after the Lakers removed their starters with 1:43 remaining. That run trimmed the Raptors’ deficit to 125-120 and forced Doncic, Reaves and Kessler back for the final possessions.

Cameron Carr, the Lakers’ first-round pick, made his NBA debut in the final 1:43 after missing the first six games with an oblique muscle injury.
